“How much does it cost to learn to surf in Taghazout?” is one of the first questions people ask me before they book. Prices here are refreshingly simple compared to big touristy surf camps, but let’s break it down properly so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Surf Lesson Prices
| Lesson type | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Open Group lesson | 25€ / person | Solo travelers, meeting other surfers |
| Private 1-on-1 | Contact for price | Fastest progress, full attention |
| Private Group (friends/family) | Contact for price | Small groups who want to stay together |
Every surf lesson in Taghazout with me is 2 to 2.5 hours and includes:
- Surfboard (soft-top, beginner-friendly)
- Wetsuit, all sizes
- Bottle of water
- Beach theory session and full coaching in the water
No hidden fees, no “equipment rental” add-on at checkout. The price you see is the price you pay.
Sandboarding Price
A full sandboarding trip to the Timlaline dunes is 30€ per person, all-inclusive: equipment, transport, a local guide, snacks and Moroccan tea, and free photos and videos of your trip. It’s a 5-hour trip, departing at 4:30 pm, minimum 3 people (bookable from 1 person, we fill the group).
Group vs Private: Which Should You Choose?
Open group lessons at 25€ are the most popular choice and honestly, my favorite way to teach too. Groups stay small (max 4-5 people per instructor), so you still get personal feedback on every wave, but you also get the fun of learning alongside other travelers.
Private lessons make sense if you want 100% of my attention, you’re traveling with a partner or family and prefer to keep your group separate, or you’re already intermediate and want to work on specific technique. Message me on WhatsApp for a private quote, it depends on group size and dates.
How to Get the Best Value
- Ask about multi-day packages. If you’re staying more than 3-4 days, multiple lessons are the fastest way to actually progress, not just try surfing once.
- Book directly, not through a resort or agency. Booking straight through the website or WhatsApp means no middleman markup.
- Combine surf and sandboarding. A surf lesson in the morning and sandboarding at sunset makes for a full, well-priced day in Taghazout.
